Eastwood Community FC 2 – 3 Carlton Town Lions

Carlton wanted to carry on from where they left off from the Gedling game with a win. With regular keeper Sam Heason not available it was down to Ansu Gaye to step up for the lions in goal and he didn’t disappoint! Carlton also wanted revenge for their defeat to Eastwood in the first game of the season.

The Lions got off to a flying start with in-form striker Connor Pauley scoring from an acute angle to put the lions 1-0 up. It was a very physical battle with the Eastwood centre half going off and the keeper being knocked out cold meaning a 30 minute delay.

The game re-started and Carlton continued their form as Dan Chambers got a second for the Lions. Half time 2-0 Carlton.

In the second half, Eastwood started to get more in the game and pulled one back.

Carlton made changes with new signings Jordan Percival and Brahima Ceesay making their debuts for the Lions and straight away got involved in the thick of the action.

Carlton grabbed a third to make it 3-1. Again from Connor Pauley.

Eastwood yet again got another one back but the game was never in doubt as Carlton dug in to see it out.

Final Score – 3-2

Man of the Match – Bailey Kilcullen
