Eastwood Community FC Red 3 – 3 Carlton Town Lions

Back to league action for the Lions against a strong Eastwood team. With 5 wins in 7 and in the semi-finals of a cup, they were wanting to get points on the board.

With new signing Junior Ghali making his first start and a few position changes, Carlton were ready for the game.
The Lions dictated play for the first 25 minutes and managed to close down the ball with Eastwood unable to cope with the lack of time and space they were given. A dubious referee decision gave Eastwood a free kick in a dangerous place and ex-Carlton Town Lions player Dan Chambers converted to make it 1-0 Eastwood.

Carlton again started to break Eastwood down with top scorer Joshua Brown playing in midfield also converting a free kick to make it 1-1.

The Lions were on the up and tricky Ricky Liki ran at Eastwood and scored to make it 2-1 Carlton.

In the second half Eastwood knew they had to fight back the Lions and managed to get the equaliser to make it 2-2.

Carlton made a sub with Brendan O’Donnell coming on and within 10 mins converted a corner to make it 3-2 Lions.

With minutes left, Eastwood equalised to make it 3-3. A fair result for both teams with Carlton able take a lot of positives for their up and coming games.

Come on you Lions!
