Gedling Southbank Red 1 – 13 Carlton Town Lions

The Lions wanted to get their season started against a Gedling team low on confidence after their defeat in the first game of the season last week with Carlton’s manager making changes to personnel and formation.

The changes payed off with The Lions finally commanding the game and it wasn’t long before they took the lead with Daniel Chambers starting where he left off last season by opening his account in Division 1.

Declan Knight looked settled at right back and played in a top drawer ball for Chambers to grab his second. By halftime, The Lions were 3-0 up with Marcus Barton notching the third.

In the second half, new signing Tom Hallsworth dropped into midfield and added competition for The Lions players to earn their shirt in an already talented squad.

After a goal back from Southbank the game turned into one way traffic in The Lions favour as Carlton stormed on and with 2 goals from Pauley and a goal apiece for Ousman Cham, Joe Scott and Ousman Sagnia. Daniel Chambers notched 5 in the game in total, Marcus Barton grabbed his second and new boy Tom Hallsworth opened his account for The Lions.

A 13-1 win showing Carlton Town Lions can compete at the highest level!
