Newark Town 2 – 2 Carlton Town Lions

After last weeks draw, Carlton wanted to make amends for their slip ups.

Carlton started to show massive improvements and rightly took the lead through Declan Knight. Lots more chances came Carlton’s way but they failed to convert.

Top scorer Dan Chambers’ free kick gave him his 18th of the season as he smashed it past Newark’s keeper to take The Lions 2-0 up at half time.

In the second half Newark knew they had to up their game and they started to close Carlton down and forced mistakes, quickly bringing the game back to 2-1. It wasn’t long before they once again knocked another past the Carlton keeper using the same approach to make it 2-2. New signing Awais Khan came on but had little time to make an impact.

Two draws in a row for The Lions – still taking points but an urgency to get back to winning ways!
