We recently heard about Tony, an 84-year-old Notts County supporter from Giltbrook whose connection to the club goes back decades, and his story really resonated with us.
Tony’s been following the Magpies since the days when Tommy Lawton was playing at Meadow Lane. Those early matches left a lasting impression, sparking a passion for the club that’s stayed with him ever since.
Football played a significant role in Tony’s own life too. He played for Eastwood Boys, where he shared the pitch with Jeff Astle, another name synonymous with County. After joining the RAF, Tony relocated to Yorkshire, where he still lives today. Despite the move, he’s never stopped following the club’s progress over the years.
When we learned about Tony’s story, we were keen to get in touch. We arranged to send him one of our official David James sponsored Notts County shirts, so he can now watch the Magpies in the new home kit.
It’s supporters like Tony who remind us why we’re proud to be Diamond Club Partners with Notts County FC for the 2025/26 season.
